# DNS & TLS

> Prepare names and certificate material for SIP, WSS, TURN, and API traffic.

Production DNS and TLS must match the public interfaces you enable. Leamout uses deployment certificate and private-key material for secure SIP/WebSocket and TURN interfaces, and can use customer carrier CA material when verified carrier TLS is required.

Development certificates are not a production trust model.

Before exposing WSS or TLS SIP publicly, verify certificate/key consistency, validity, hostname coverage, trust chains, and any carrier-specific CA requirements.

  Automatic production TLS/network validation is still pending in the current `leamout init` workflow. Operators must validate these prerequisites explicitly today.
