The current update command requires a versioned production CLI. It validates deployment identity and configuration, installs the runtime bundle staged for that exact CLI version, pulls the declared images, and converges the Compose runtime with --remove-orphans. After the update completes, run:
A development CLI refuses to perform a production update.
Automatic pre-update backup and complete telecom drain orchestration are separate work from the current update command. Plan your production maintenance procedure accordingly.
