Leamout uses your organization’s SIP trunks and phone-number bindings to route calls.

Outbound routing

An outbound call specifies from_uri, to_uri, and optionally trunk_id and voice_agent_id. When you specify a trunk, Leamout selects an eligible remote endpoint from that trunk. Endpoint priority, weight, health status, and cooldown influence selection. Configure multiple endpoints when you need a fallback destination within the same BYOC connection. Before launching a Voice Agent call, Leamout checks the agent’s provider readiness and applicable organization allowances.

Inbound routing

For inbound calls, Leamout authenticates SIP ingress, resolves the number to an organization-owned trunk, then uses the phone-number binding to identify the Voice Agent. Configure:
  1. An inbound-capable SIP trunk with authentication or trusted source networks.
  2. A BYOC phone number associated with that trunk.
  3. A ready Voice Agent with verified provider bindings.
  4. A phone-number binding for that agent.
