A trunk is a routable SIP service. The current trunk model supports byoc and managed provisioning modes. For BYOC, carrier_connection_id identifies the customer carrier relationship. A trunk also has a name, direction, and status. Each trunk can have multiple physical endpoints with:
Leamout tracks endpoint health, consecutive failures, last response code, latency, error state, and cooldown time. Routing uses those fields to exclude unhealthy endpoints and select among eligible endpoints by priority and weight. Credentials for managed trunk provisioning are returned only when appropriate; do not persist plaintext SIP credentials in logs or application databases.
